NYSE Euronext: Portuguese Treasury Bills Integrated Into Interbolsa

Interbolsa, a subsidiary of NYSE Euronext and the Central Securities Depository (CSD) for the Portuguese market, announced today that it has become the CSD for Portuguese Treasury Bills. Interbolsa will be responsible for ensuring not only the registration and control of the Treasury Bills but also the settlement of transactions.

- The number of equity trades to the end of November reached 38.5 million, of which 2.2 million were traded in November
- BME’s Derivatives market traded 60 million contracts in the first eleven months of the year
- Trading in Options on Indices totalled 3.6 million contracts to the end of November, up 90% from the same period a year earlier
- The number of trades on the BME’s Corporate Debt market to the end of November hit a record high, exceeding the million barrier

The average number of trades per trading day was 265,993, compared to 329,947 during the past 12-month period. The total market cap of listed companies at NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange amounted to EUR 747 billion, compared to EUR 647 billion in November 2011.
