The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight (DSIO) today issued a no-action letter that provides certain swap dealers with limited relief surrounding the requirement that chief compliance officers of such swap dealers prepare and submit an Annual Report, pursuant to Commission Regulation 3.3.

The Division of Market Oversight (DMO) of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today issued a letter addressing the timeline within which non-clearing member swap dealers must come into compliance with the large swap trader reporting requirements of Part 20 of the CFTC’s regulations.

Treasury Receives Payment From Its Final Sale Of AIG Common Stock, Bringing Positive Return On Overall AIG Commitment To $22.7 Billion - Treasury Now Owns Zero Shares Of AIG Common Stock – Down From 1.655 Billion Shares In January 2011

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that it today received payment from its final sale of AIG common stock. With the proceeds received today, the Treasury and the Federal Reserve have fully recovered the combined $182.3 billion they committed to stabilize AIG during the financial crisis – with an additional $22.7 billion positive return.

Second Meeting Of The Financial Stability Board Regional Consultative Group For The Commonwealth Of Independent States

Today, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation hosted the second meeting of the FSB Regional Consultative Group for the Commonwealth of Independent States (RCG for the CIS) in Moscow, Russia. The group was established as part of the FSB’s initiative announced in November 2010 to expand and formalise outreach beyond its membership. The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyz Republic newly joined the RCG for CIS at this meeting.

Platts: Continental European Day-Ahead Power Prices Rose 2.1 % In November - U.K. & Continental Nat Gas Prices Up Vs. October; European Power Down Vs. Nov. 2011

Continental Europe’s day-ahead power and natural gas prices were up in November from October, but on a year-over-year basis they moved in opposite directions, according to Platts, a leading global provider of energy, petrochemicals and metals information. Prices of U.K. power and natural gas were higher month over month and versus a year ago.
