Inclusion Is A Strength: Corporate America And The SEC Should Reflect America By Commissioner Luis A. Aguilar, U.S. Securities And Exchange Commission

Recently I have had the privilege to speak at a number of forums to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in corporate America and in government agencies such as the SEC. I strongly believe that regulators and corporate America should reflect the broad range of American society. The following remarks are a compilation of my remarks delivered on (i) March 5, 2012, at the Greenlining Institute’s Diversity Summit in Washington, DC, (ii) March 5, 2013, at the SEC’s Unconscious Bias Training Seminar in Washington DC, (iii) March 16, 2013, at the Renaissance Gathering Dinner in Atlanta, Georgia, and (iv) March 19, 2013, at the Chicago United Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services: Cyprus Long-Term Rating Lowered To 'CCC' On Rising Risks To Financial And Economic Stability - Outlook Negative

- We believe that in the absence of a credible alternative source of capital and fiscal financing, the risk of a disorderly credit event is rising.
- We are lowering our long-term sovereign credit rating on Cyprus to 'CCC' from 'CCC+'.
- The outlook is negative.

CFTC Issues Amended Registration Order For Natural Gas Exchange Inc

On March 20, 2013, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued an amended order of registration as a derivatives clearing organization (“DCO”) to the Natural Gas Exchange Inc. (“NGX”). NGX, a registered DCO since 2008, had requested that the Commission expand the scope of products it is authorized to clear and permit it to continue using an accrual accounting methodology for daily settlement.

The AMF Highlights The Entry Into Force Of Certain Provisions Of The “EMIR” Regulation With Effect From 15 March 2013

European Commission delegated regulations 148/2013 to 153/2013 supplementing the European “EMIR” regulation 648/2012 on over-the-counter derivatives, central counterparties and trade repositories were published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 23 February 2013. They enter into force on 15 March 2013.

Following the notification of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission by the Cyprus Capital Market Commission regarding the decision to continue the suspension of trading of all listed securities on the Cyprus Stock Exchange and upon its request, ATHEX, following the relevant request of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, decided the continuation of the suspension of trading of the shares of the companies "BANK OF CYPRUS PUBLIC COMPANY LTD" and "CYPRUS POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LTD" on ATHEX, for March 21 and March 22, 2013 (included).
