  • UK's Financial Conduct Authority Decides To Ban And Fine Timothy Roberts And Andrew Wilkins

    The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published decision notices against Timothy Roberts, the chief executive, and Andrew Wilkins, a former director of Catalyst Investment Group Limited (Catalyst). The FCA has decided to fine Roberts £450,000 and ban him from the industry; and fine Wilkins £100,000 and prevent him from holding senior roles in future.

    Day-ahead electricity prices in Continental Europe rose sharply in September, pulling further away from historic lows seen in June, according to monthly data just released by Platts, a leading global energy, petrochemicals and metals information provider.

  • Dubai Financial Market (DFM) Performance – Q3, 2013

    The Dubai Financial Market General Index increased by 24.3% to 2762.5  points at the end of this  quarter compared to 2222.6  points at the end of second quarter. At the sectoral level, indexes of seven out of the nine sectors represented on DFM ended the quarter in the green, with the Services sector increasing the most by 34.8%, followed by the Financial and Investment Services and the Real Estate and Construction sectors by 34.6%, and 27% respectively. The Industrial sector index has not changed during this quarter, while the Consumer Staples index decreased by 9.9%. 

  • Platts: Global Petrochemical Prices Rose Nearly 2% In September

    Prices in the $3-trillion-plus global petrochemicals market rose 1.9% in September to $1,388 per metric ton (/mt), the fourth consecutive month of price gains, according to the monthly Platts Global Petrochemical Index (PGPI) report released today, coinciding with the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) annual meeting in Berlin. The PGPI is a benchmark basket of seven widely used petrochemicals and is published by Platts, a leading global energy, petrochemicals and metals information provider and a top source of benchmark price references.
