SGX Proposes New Electricity Futures

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is consulting the public on the proposed introduction of SGX Uniform Singapore Energy Price (USEP) Quarterly Base Load Electricity Futures, to be traded on SGX-Derivatives Trading platform and cleared on SGX-Derivatives Clearing house. This is the first electricity futures to be introduced in Asia. The proposed contract will be a standard, cash-settled futures contract listed as contract quarters (i.e. January to March, April to June, July to September, and October to December).

HKEx Appoints Market Makers For RMB Currency Futures In After-Hours Futures Trading

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has appointed Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and Deutsche Bank AG asmarket makers for the after-hours trading of its RMB Currency Futures that will begin on Monday, 7 April 2014.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Court Appoints Interim Receivers And Managers For Qunxing Paper

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) obtained an order in the Court of First Instance late last Friday following an urgent application to appoint interim receivers and managers over Qunxing Paper Holdings Company Limited (Qunxing) to protect the interests of the company’s shareholders and the investing public. The application was made in the SFC’s ongoing proceedings against Qunxing and its subsidiary, Best Known Group Limited (Best Known).

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For CITIC Pacific Futures

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 2 April 2014, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.
