CFTC Issues First Whistleblower Award

Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Acting Chairman Mark Wetjen announced today that the agency will make its first award to a whistleblower as part of the Commission’s Whistleblower Program created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. The person will receive approximately $240,000 for providing valuable information about violations of the Commodity Exchange Act.

Antitrust: European Commission Sends Statement Of Objections To Crédit Agricole, HSBC And JPMorgan For Suspected Participation In Euro Interest Rate Derivatives Cartel

The European Commission has informed Crédit Agricole, HSBC and JPMorgan of its preliminary view that they may have breached EU antitrust rules by colluding to influence the pricing of interest rate derivatives denominated in the euro currency. The sending of a statement of objections does not prejudge the final outcome of the investigation.

Eurex/TAIFEX Link Successfully Launched - Strong Market Interest Leads To Promising Start

The Eurex/TAIFEX Link saw a successful launch on 15 May. More than 2,100 contracts were traded and cleared in the first days of trading. The new link allows Eurex members to trade and clear TAIEX futures and options as daily expiring futures on the Eurex Exchange.
