  • Thailand Futures Exchange Welcomes AWS To Be Full License Member

    The Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX), under the Stock Exchange of Thailand group, announces that it has granted Asia Wealth Securities Co.,Ltd (AWS) a full license derivatives trading member, effective from December 18. The broker also secured a derivatives clearing license from Thailand Clearing House with the same effective date, said TFEX Managing Director Kesara Manchusree.

  • S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes To The S&P/TSX Canadian Indices - A Deletion From The S&P/TSX SmallCap Index

    Toronto, Ontario, December 12, 2013 – S&P Dow Jones Canadian Index Services will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:

    The shareholders of Angle Energy Inc. (TSX:NGL) have approved an Arrangement Agreement with Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. (TSX:BXE). Angle Energy shareholders will receive a combination of cash and Bellatrix Exploration shares for each share held. Angle Energy will be  removed  from  the  S&P/TSX  SmallCap  Index  after  the  close  of  trading  on  Monday, ecember 16, 2013.

  • CFTC Orders David R. Lynch To Pay More Than $470,000 In Restitution And A Civil Monetary Penalty To Settle Charges Of Fraudulent Misappropriation, Fraudulent Solicitations, And False Statements

    The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it entered an Order requiring David R. Lynch of Stuart, Florida, to make restitution of $171,297 to defrauded customers and pay a $300,000 civil monetary penalty, among other sanctions, for fraudulent misappropriation, fraudulent solicitations, and false statements in connection with a commodity pool trading leveraged or margined off-exchange foreign currency contracts (forex). Lynch has never been registered with the CFTC.

  • SIFMA Appoints Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. President And CEO, Announces Former Senator Judd Gregg Will Step Down As CEO

    The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today announced the appointment of Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. as President and CEO, effective immediately.  Bentsen previously served as SIFMA's president.  Former Senator Judd Gregg has informed the SIFMA Board of Directors that he is stepping down as CEO.  Senator Gregg will continue working with the association in the role of senior advisor.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged the managing partners of a Charlotte, N.C.-based investment advisory firm for compromising their independent judgment and allowing a third party with its own interests to influence the portfolio selection process of a collateralized debt obligation (CDO) being offered to investors.

  • SIFMA AMG And ISDA Announce That CUSIPs Are Now Available For MAC Contracts

    The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) Asset Management Group (AMG) and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), working in collaboration with CUSIP Global Services, have developed CUSIP numbers for the Market Agreed Coupon (MAC). MAC Contracts were developed jointly by SIFMA AMG and ISDA in April 2013.
