Market Abuse: EU Enacts Criminal Sanctions To Defend Market Integrity

The European Commission welcomes today's formal adoption by the Council of its proposal for a Regulation on market abuse (IP/11/1217) and its proposal for a Directive on criminal sanctions for market abuse (IP/11/1218). This follows the European Parliament's plenary votes backing the Regulation on 10 September 2013 (MEMO/13/774) and the Directive on 4 February 2014 (MEMO/14/77).

Launched on 7 April 2014, the weekly volume in Italian Power Futures amounted to 3,478,433 MWh. The volume on the EEX Power Derivatives Market comprised 1,059,628 MWh from exchange trading and 2,418,805 MWh from Trade Registration.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For HKEx And Ping An Insurance Futures

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 16 April 2014, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

SGX: Distributions Boost Average REIT Return To 4% In YTD
