As an operator of financial market infrastructure, SIX supports the intention of the Federal Council to regulate financial market infrastructure and derivatives trading through a law. SIX recognizes that the legislation proposed at the beginning of September is pragmatic and feasible, and that it is largely based on international standards. SIX is surprised, however, that the regulatory approach for trading platforms and systems was inconsistent and so- called organized trading systems are not considered independent elements of financial market infrastructure.

NYSE Group Announces Enhanced Methodology For The NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index - Now Includes 30 Companies Representing A Cross-Section Of The Biotechnology Industry

The New York Stock Exchange, part of the Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) global network of exchanges, today announced that it has enhanced the methodology for the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index (BTK), a widely followed benchmark for the biotechnology industry. The number of constituents held within the index will be increased from 20 to 30 names and the minimum criteria for initial and continued inclusion will be set at a higher level. The changes will be enacted at the next index rebalance effective before the open on Monday, October 20, 2014.
