Now-Casting Economics: G3 Growth Ticks Down In Q3 But Expected Steady For Full Year - Regional Picture Divergent: The US Improves, China Slows And The Euro Area Slides

Growth in the G3 economies – the US, Euro Area and China – is expected to be 3.23% in the third quarter of 2014, with respect to the same period in the previous year, according to the Now-Casting growth monitor. The growth rate in the fourth quarter is expected to be higher, at 3.38%. Overall, the growth rate has been relatively stable throughout this year, and we expect G3 growth for the full year to be 3.3%.

Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading global network of exchanges and clearing houses, announced updated terms for the mini gold futures and options contracts that are listed and traded on ICE Futures U.S. The change is effective today and reflects customer feedback on size, quality and delivery options for the mini gold products. These contracts were previously listed on Liffe U.S. and were transitioned to ICE Futures U.S. in June.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today issued an Order filing and simultaneously settling charges against Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC (Morgan Stanley), a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant, for improper supervision and records violations. The CFTC Order requires Morgan Stanley to pay a $280,000 civil monetary penalty and to disgorge commissions it earned from the subject accounts in order to address its unlawful conduct.
