SEC Charges Four In California Insider Trading Ring

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a stock research analyst, a corporate insider, and two others involved in a California-based insider trading ring that generated nearly $750,000 in illegal profits by trading in advance of four corporate news announcements.

ICAP Energy, the energy and commodities business of ICAP plc, announces today that Todd Creek, President of ICAP Energy and Commodities, has been appointed by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to its Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee (EEMAC). Todd is an Associate Member appointed by CFTC Commissioner J. Christopher Giancarlo and approved by the Commission, effective immediately.

Moscow Exchange Closing Auction Prices To Be Used In FTSE Index Calculations

Moscow Exchange is pleased to announce that FTSE will use MOEX's closing auction prices for listed Russian securities when calculating end-of-day values for its indexes. The new methodology will come into effect from 13 April.

Bank Of England Maintains Bank Rate At 0.5% And The Size Of The Asset Purchase Programme At £375 Billion

The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee at its meeting today voted to maintain Bank Rate at 0.5%. The Committee also voted to maintain the stock of purchased assets financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £375 billion.

Trading value in the equity market (BOVESPA segment) totaled BRL 133.30 billion in January, compared with BRL 156.22 billion the previous month. Average daily trading value was BRL 6.34 billion, from BRL 7.81 the previous month. Total volume reached 19,368,870 trades, from 17,170,799 the previous month. Average daily volume was 922,327 (858,540 in December).
