SGX: 20 Most Actively Traded Structured Warrants In August To Date

- Put warrants can be used by investors to hedge against a fall in the value of a portfolio. Investors can also use call warrants to gain some exposure to a market rebound without committing a significant amount of capital in the current market environment.
- In the month of August, the most active five warrant by turnover have consisted of three HSI Put Warrants and two HSI Call Warrants. The most active HSI Call and Put Warrant have a 29 September 2015 expiry, with respective strike prices of 25,200 and 23,800. The HSI is currently trading near 21,500.

MNI India Business Sentiment Indicator: India Business Sentiment Suffers Setback In August - Weak Inflationary Pressures Provide Room For Rate Cut

Indian businesses were less confident about the business environment in August as subdued domestic demand offset the positive impact of lower inflation and interest rates. The MNI India Business Sentiment Indicator, a gauge of current sentiment among BSE-listed companies, fell by 4.6% to 62.3 in August from 65.3 in July.

ASIC Releases New Secondary Services And General Advice Legislative Instruments To Replace 'Sunsetting' Class Orders

Following public consultation, ASIC has released new legislative instruments on secondary services and general advice, replacing a number of class orders that are due to expire (‘sunset’). This follows Consultation Paper 226 Remaking ASIC class orders on secondary services and general advice (CP 226) (refer: 14-330MR).

The OFR released today its Financial Markets Monitor for August. The monitor says risk aversion intensified in August following China’s surprise renminbi devaluation and its shift toward a more market-oriented currency regime. The currency moves magnified market concerns about slowing global growth and inflation, causing pronounced sell-offs in markets for commodities, emerging market currencies, and global equities.

EEX: SWM Services GmbH Adjusts Non-Usabilities For Their Power Plants

On 25 August 2015, 9 to 12 am SWM Services GmbH puts a modification in operation. With this modification the reporting of power generating units can be more granular. For this purpose it is necessary to close all not yet expired non-usabilities. This is visible on the website for non-usabilities in the column "status" by change from "active" to "inactive". Immediately after these non-usabilities will be renewed and published as usual.

Last week, Shenzhen Component Index tumbled 11.5% to 11902.0 points. SME Index closed at 8009.0 points after losing 11.4%. ChiNext Index was down 12.4% to 2342.0 points. Total turnover for stocks and funds on SZSE was US$433.0 billion, or an 8.4% decrease from the week before.
