    Financial market developments

    Mr Cœuré reviewed recent financial market developments.

    Since the Governing Council’s monetary policy meeting on 2-3 June 2015, financial markets had again been characterised by volatility, in part driven by uncertainty related to developments in Greece. The Eurosystem nevertheless continued to smoothly execute the expanded asset purchase programme (APP), in line with the announced moderate frontloading of purchases.

  • SGX Urges Caution When Dealing In CEFC Shares - Notes Small Number Of Offshore Accounts Accounted For 40% Of Recent Buying

    Singapore Exchange (SGX) today notes CEFC International Limited’s 10 August announcement of a placement of about 705 million shares at $0.35 each. This follows the company’s 21 July reply to SGX’s public query, saying that it was not aware of any information about the company that was not previously announced, apart from a potential joint venture and related funding, which if known might explain the trading activity in its shares. SGX issued a Trade with Caution warning after CEFC’s 21 July reply.

    SEC Staff is pleased to provide you with the following updates:

    • Updated Metrics. Data series containing daily cancel-to-trade ratios, trade-order volumes, hidden rates, and odd-lot rate metrics for Q2 2015 are now available. This data extends to 42 total months the data series you can view in the data visualization tool as well as download in CSV format. The visualization for quote-life data now defaults to Q2 2015.

    • 19.4% top line year-on-year growth reflects higher volumes in derivatives and equities combined with increased revenues from other services not related to volumes
    • Adjusted net income[1] grew 17.2% to R$436.8 million; adjusted EPS grew 19.8% to R$0.243
    • Payout practice: maintenance of a payout ratio of 80% of the IRFS net income with a higher proportion of total payout for the year in the form of interest on capital

  • Statement At The End Of An IMF Staff Visit To Greece

    A staff team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Delia Velculescu, visited Athens during July 30-August 12 to participate in technical discussions between the Greek authorities and the European Commission, European Central Bank and European Stability Mechanism (ESM) on an economic program that could be financially supported by the ESM.
