CME Group And NAFB Foundation To Award First-Ever Orion Samuelson Scholarship For Agricultural Communications - NAFB Foundation Celebrates Presentation Of 100th Scholarship
CME Group and the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) Foundation today announced the first-ever recipient of the Orion Samuelson Scholarship. Elizabeth (Liz) Koehler, a senior at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, has been selected as the recipient of this $5,000 NAFB Foundation scholarship sponsored by CME Group, and named in honor of legendary farm broadcaster, Orion Samuelson of WGN Radio.

PEGAS: First Trades Registered In New Spread Products
Today, PEGAS registered first trades in the new gas spread order book. So far, a volume of 1,690 MWh has been traded in the new NCG-L-gas/TTF spread. The new spreads products are available for trading since 15 October 2014.

CFTC Revokes Registrations Of Abdul Sultan Walji And His Company, Arista LLC, Based On Court’s Permanent Injunction Order Prohibiting Them From Committing Further Fraud And On Walji’s Conviction For Criminal Commodities Fraud
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced today that it has revoked the registrations of Defendants Arista LLC, a California company with its principal place of business in Newport Coast, California, and its owner Abdul Sultan Walji a/k/a Abdul Sultan Valji) of San Juan Capistrano, California. Arista had been registered with the CFTC as a Commodity Pool Operator, and Walji had been registered as an Associated Person of Arista.

SEC Charges Staten Island Man With Conducting Fraudulent Offerings And Stealing Investor Funds
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged the operator of an online stock recommendation business with conducting several fraudulent securities offerings and siphoning some of the money raised from investors for a Caribbean vacation and plastic surgery.

Thank you, Ben [Indek], for that kind introduction. I am truly honored to be here tonight to deliver the 15thAnnual A.A. Sommer Lecture. It is a particular honor to deliver this lecture in the presence of Al’s family. In addition to serving as an SEC Commissioner during a particularly trying time, Al Sommer played an impressively wide range of roles over the course of his career. To name just a few, he was Chairman of the Public Oversight Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the SEC Advisory Committee on Corporate Disclosure, and the America Bar Association Section of Business Law, and he was the Vice Chairman of the NASD.
