Nigerian Exchange Weekly Market Report For March 1st, 2024

A total turnover of 1.882 billion shares worth N34.149 billion in 48,464 deals was traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 1.377 billion shares valued at N31.584 billion that exchanged hands last week in 42,040 deals.

- NewConnect Electronic Order Book equities turnover value increased by 44.3% YoY to PLN 308.8 million
- Index futures turnover volume increased by 15.7% YoY to 669,600 contracts
- Aggregate ETF and ETC turnover value increased by 82.2% YoY to PLN 127.0 million
- Electricity turnover volume increased by 17.3% YoY to 11.0 TWh
- Natural gas turnover volume decreased by 16.8% YoY to 10.5 TWh

Federal Reserve Monetary Policy Report

The Federal Reserve Act requires the Federal Reserve Board to submit written reports to Congress containing discussions of "the conduct of monetary policy and economic developments and prospects for the future." This report—called the Monetary Policy Report—is submitted semiannually to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs and to the House Committee on Financial Services, along with testimony from the Federal Reserve Board Chair.

FESE Response To The IOSCO Consultation Report On Market Outages

FESE agrees with the key findings in IOSCO’s consultation report. We believe the recommended good practices around outage and communication plans, the reopening of trading, the closing auction and alternative prices, and the post-outage plan are largely appropriate.

High Court Allows The UK Financial Conduct Authority To Pause Civil Case Against WealthTek LLP

SEC Charges Advisory Firm HG Vora For Disclosure Failures Ahead Of Ryder Acquisition Bid

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced settled charges against New York-based investment adviser HG Vora Capital Management LLC for its failure to make timely ownership disclosures in the lead-up to its May 2022 acquisition bid for trucking fleet company Ryder System Inc. HG Vora agreed to pay a $950,000 civil penalty to settle the SEC’s charges.
