  • SEC Announces Agenda For February 2 Meeting Of The Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee

    The Securities and Exchange Commission will hold the third meeting of the Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee on February 2, beginning at 9:30 a.m. EST.  The Commission established the advisory committee to provide a formal mechanism through which the Commission can receive advice and recommendations on equity market structure issues.

    The Federal Reserve Board on Friday extended until March 21, 2016 the comment period for the proposed policy statement detailing the framework the Board would follow in setting the Countercyclical Capital Buffer (CCyB).

  • Bank of England: The Financial Policy Committee’s Framework For The Systemic Risk Buffer (SRB)

    As part of the legislative package implementing the recommendations of the Independent Commission on Banking in the UK, the Financial Policy Committee (FPC) is required to produce a framework for a systemic risk buffer (SRB) for ring-fenced banks and large building societies.

    • Most equity indices across all index categories (broad market, thematic, strategy and sectoral) declined during January 2016.Nifty IT index was the only gainer (0.21%) and Nifty PSU Bank index (-19.96%) was the biggest loser during the one month period ending January 29, 2016.
    • During the 3 month period ending January 29, 2016, the gainers are Nifty Energy (5.15%) and Nifty Media index (2.63%) and the biggest loser is Nifty PSU Bank (-24.33%).
    • Gainers during the 1 year period ending January 29, 2016 in their respective index categories are Nifty Alpha 50 (2.93%) in the strategy index category and Nifty Media (4.71%) in the sectoral index category. Other equity indices across all categories declined during this period.

  • Intercontinental Exchange Launches U.S. Treasury Index Family - ICE’s New Benchmark Indices Selected By BlackRock To Power Four iShares®U.S. Treasury ETFs

    Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges, clearing houses and data services, announced today that its subsidiary, Interactive Data Pricing and Reference Data, LLC (Interactive Data), will become the new benchmark index provider for four of BlackRock’s iSharesU.S. Treasury Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs): iShares 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (SHY), iShares 3-7 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEI), iShares 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEF) and iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT). Known as the ICE U.S. Treasury Bond Index SeriesTM, the indices will be operated by Interactive Data beginning in the second quarter of 2016.
