ASX Group Monthly Activity Report - November 2015

The value of ASX-listed stocks, as measured by the All Ordinaries Index, fell 1.3% in November 2015. This performance was below rises observed in other major markets, including Germany up 4.9%, Japan up 3.5%, and the US up 0.1%. Singapore was down 4.7%, Hong Kong down 2.8%, and the UK down 0.1%.

First U.S.-China High-Level Joint Dialogue On Cybercrime And Related Issues Summary Of Outcomes

On Dec. 1, 2015, in Washington, D.C., Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, together with Chinese State Councilor Guo Shengkun, co-chaired the first U.S.-China High-Level Joint Dialogue on Cybercrime and Related Issues. Under the commitments made by U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the state visit in September 2015, the primary objectives of the dialogue were to review the timeliness and quality of responses to requests for information and assistance with respect to cybercrime or other malicious cyber activities and to enhance cooperation between the United States and China on cybercrime and related issues. In addition to members of the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, representatives from the Department of State, National Security Council and Intelligence Community participated for the United States, while the Chinese delegation included representatives from the Committee of Political and Legal Affairs of CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of State Security, the Ministry of Justice and the State Internet Information Office.

Bahamas International Securities Exchange Signs Agreement With Diane Phillips & Associates

Fifteen years after it was launched in early 2000 as the first new stock exchange of the 21st Century, The Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX), has emerged as one of the key drivers of business in The Bahamas. Today BISX serves as the listing portal for 43 securities with a total value of $4.3 Billion as well as 41 mutual funds with a Net Asset Value of over $2 Billion. Believing it was time to tell the BISX story and raise its profile, CEO Keith Davies signed a contract this week with Diane Phillips & Associates for a new website, public relations services and guidance. Davies and Phillips are pictured at the exchange’s office at the Fort Nassau Centre, the western addition of the British Colonial Hilton.

FIA Releases SEF Tracker Report For October

In the month of October, trading volume on swap execution facilities averaged $430.17 billion per day, the highest monthly total since June. Rates trading averaged $363.76 billion per day, up 6.0% from September and up 15.2% from October 2014, driving mainly by an increase in the trading of forward rate agreements. In credit, an average of $33.24 billion was traded per day in October, down 14.1% from September but the highest amount so far this year for a non-roll month. In foreign exchange, non-deliverable forwards and FX options volume averaged $33.16 billion per day in October, down 4.2% from the previous month and down 16.3% from the year-ago month.
