    Good morning.  Thank you, Randy, for that kind introduction and for your leadership within this great organization.  It is a pleasure to join you all again for this important and timely discussion. 

    I would like to start with a few words about the United Kingdom’s referendum on membership in the European Union. We respect the decision of the voters in the U.K. and will work closely with London, Brussels, and our international partners to ensure continued economic stability, security, and prosperity in Europe and globally.  In recent weeks, I have been in regular contact with my counterparts and financial market participants in the U.K., E.U. and globally, and we will continue to consult closely in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

  • EDHEC-Risk Institute: New Margin Regulations For The Non-Cleared OTC Derivatives To Reduce Systemic Risk Across Financial Markets

    In a new publication entitled “Initial Margin for Non-Centrally Cleared OTC Derivatives – Overview, Modelling and Calibration,” EDHEC-Risk Institute provides a detailed overview and analysis of the forthcoming new framework to be used by large financial institutions to determine initial margin (IM) and variation margin (VM) payments when trading non-cleared over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. The Fédération Bancaire Française (FBF) supports the research chair on “Innovations and Regulations in Investment Banking” in which this research was produced.

  • Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission Bans Liu King Yee For Life

    The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has banned Ms Liu King Yee, a former employee of Wing Lung Bank Limited (Wing Lung Bank), from re-entering the industry for life following her conviction by the High Court for fraud.

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has joined hands with Asian Finance Association (AsianFA) to organize “The 28th AsianFA Annual Meeting” for the first time in Thailand, during June 27-28, an annual academic conference to present research papers of finance academic, graduate student, and practitioners worldwide to promote innovation for financial and capital market development.
