Statement Of CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad On Final Rule Amending Reporting And Recordkeeping Requirements For Cleared Swaps

Regular reporting of data on swaps is a key component of the swaps reforms that were agreed to by the G-20 leaders and codified in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Since taking office, a priority of mine has been to improve data quality and to simplify reporting obligations for market participants. I know that my fellow Commissioners Bowen and Giancarlo share this goal. That is why I am very pleased that today, the Commission has acted unanimously to improve the process for reporting data on cleared swaps.

Dealing With Political Risk: What FTSE-100 Companies Say

Political risk takes many forms and is not easily defined, but it is high and rising by just about any standard. Governments are under pressure or have been forced out of office in countries as far apart as Venezuela, Brazil, Turkey, South Africa, Malaysia and Thailand. Armed conflicts have becomes entrenched in the Ukraine, Syria and the Sahel. Geopolitical tensions are high in the South China Sea, between Iran and the Gulf countries, and between North Korea and neighbouring states. The number of terrorist incidents recorded in 2014, the last year for which data is currently available, was nine times as high as in 2000.

CFTC Approves Final Rule To Amend Swap Data Recordkeeping And Reporting Requirements For Cleared Swaps

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today approved a final rule (the Final Rule) that amends existing swaps reporting regulations in order to provide additional clarity to swap counterparties and registered entities regarding their reporting obligations for cleared swap transactions; and to improve the efficiency of data collection and maintenance associated with the reporting of the swaps involved in a cleared swap transaction.

Nasdaq (Nasdaq:NDAQ), the single largest U.S. equity exchange by market share, announced five new exchange-traded product (ETP) listings in May, growing the company’s total ETP listings to 264. Thomson Reuters has expanded its distribution arrangement with OTC Markets Group to include OTC Markets Group’s End-of-Day Pricing Data for OTCQX®, OTCQB® and Pink® securities. In addition to the Real-Time Level 1 and Level 2 Data that OTC Markets Group already makes available through the Thomson Reuters Elektron and Eikon suite of products, Thomson Reuters clients now can receive reliable and comprehensive closing bid, offer and trade data for 10,000 OTCQX, OTCQB and Pink securities via its DataScope product suite.
