Wells Fargo Announces Agreement In Principle To Settle Class Action Lawsuit Regarding Retail Sales Practices

Wells Fargo announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle to settle a class action lawsuit concerning retail sales practices, which was filed in May 2015 in the Northern District of California (Jabbari v. Wells Fargo, N.A., et al.). The settlement class will consist of all persons who claim that Wells Fargo opened an account in their name without consent, enrolled them in a product or service without consent, or submitted an application for a product or service in their name without consent during the period from January 1, 2009, through the date the Settlement Agreement is executed. Wells Fargo expects this settlement to resolve claims in 11 other pending class actions that unauthorized accounts were opened in customers’ names or that customers were enrolled in products or services without their consent.

US Department Of Justice: Deutsche Bank’s London Subsidiary Sentenced For Manipulation Of LIBOR

DB Group Services (UK) Limited (DBGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG (Deutsche Bank), was sentenced today for its role in manipulating London Interbank Offered Rates (LIBOR) for U.S. Dollar and several other currencies. LIBOR is a leading benchmark used in financial products and transactions around the world.

NYSE Arca (“Exchange” or “NYSE Arca”) has filed a proposed rule change to list and trade shares of the SolidX Bitcoin Trust. When an exchange makes such a filing, the Commission must determine whether the proposed rule change is consistent with the statutory provisions, and the rules and regulations, that apply to national securities exchanges. The Commission must approve the filing if it finds that the proposed rule change is consistent with these legal requirements, and it must disapprove the filing if it does not make such a finding.
OCC Declares Clearing Member Refund And Dividend For 2016

OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, today announced the declaration of a refund and dividend under its approved capital plan. The refund of approximately $46.6 million to clearing members and the dividend of approximately $25.6 million to Stockholder Exchanges will be paid sometime in the third quarter of 2017.

“Even though we may leave the European Union, we are not leaving Europe,” said London Mayor Sadiq Khan visiting the Parliament on 28 March. “For issues from security and defence to finance and culture, we are still going to be a part of the European family.” Khan met Parliament President Antonio Tajani to discuss issues such as security and Brexit. “It’s in nobody’s interest for London or the UK to be punished,” said Khan. “Not in London’s interest, not the UK’s interest, nor the EU’s interest.”
