CME And Royal Mint Gold Blockchain And Trading Platform In Live Testing

CME Group and the Royal Mint have started testing a blockchain-based platform for trading gold. The new platform, built with technology companies AlphaPoint and BitGo, will allow institutions to trade RMG (Royal Mint Gold), a digital gold product created by the Royal Mint and CME Group.

This is just the beginning. We're going to reduce taxes. We're going to eliminate wasteful regulations, which we've already done -- probably 25 percent. You can take a look at Dodd-Frank. For the bankers in the room, they'll be very happy because we're really doing a major streamlining and, perhaps, elimination, and replacing it with something else. But that will be the minimum. But we're doing a major elimination of the horrendous Dodd-Frank regulations, keeping some obviously, but getting rid of many.

At the end of the settlement date of March 31, 2017, short interest in 2,329 Nasdaq Global MarketSM securities totaled 7,313,893,228 shares compared with 7,352,374,802 shares in 2,328 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of March 15, 2017. The end-of-March short interest represents 4.33 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.54 days for the prior reporting period.

BOX Regulation: Consolidated Audit Trail Clock Synchronization Study

The CAT NMS Plan requires the exchanges and FINRA to prepare a written assessment of current clock synchronization standards to assess whether any changes to those standards would be appropriate. To assist in this assessment, the exchanges and FINRA have prepared a short study to collect information regarding current clock synchronization practices from broker-dealers, exchanges and FINRA, as well as third-party vendors or similar providers. BOX Options Exchange LLC (“BOX”) requests that its Participants complete the CAT Clock Synchronization Study and submit their responses by Friday, April 21, 2017 by 5pm.

EBA Finds Supervisory Authorities Have Implemented Robust IT Systems And Processes For Supervisory Reporting

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a Report on the Peer Review carried out on its ITS on supervisory reporting aimed at assessing how supervisory authorities have ensured its consistent and comprehensive implementation. The Report summarises the outcomes of this assessment involving the supervisory authorities of all EU Member States, the European Central Bank (ECB)/Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and the supervisory authorities of three European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). Overall, the Peer Review concluded that most supervisory authorities have put in place robust processes and IT systems to ensure a timely, complete and correct data reporting.
