12th Meeting of the OIC Member States Stock Exchanges’ Forum was held on September 11, 2018 at Conrad İstanbul Bosphorus Otel with the participation of Member representatives and distinguished speakers. In order to provide a dedicated platform and communication channel for the representatives of the relevant OIC organizations and institutions, to discuss international cooperation activities, and to offer participants the opportunity to share their experiences, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States’ Stock Exchanges Forum was initated in 2005. The annual meetings of the Forum, which have been organized by Borsa İstanbul since then, brought senior executives of participating institutions and other related institutions such as IIFM, IFSB, SESRIC, AAOFI, ICDT, IDB, AFE together in İstanbul.

SEC: United Technologies Charged With Violating FCPA

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Connecticut-based United Technologies Corporation will pay $13.9 million to resolve charges that it violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) by making illicit payments in its elevator and aircraft engine businesses.

It is a pleasure to be in Detroit. I started my career working here in the Motor City, and I have followed the fortunes of this area with interest ever since. A few years ago, I visited some of Detroit's neighborhoods with our local officials at a time when damage from the crisis was still pervasive. While challenges remain in many of the city's neighborhoods, since that time the metropolitan area overall has seen signs of a rebound in business activity and investment, and the unemployment rate has continued to trend downward, recently falling to 4.3 percent.
SEC Uses Data Analysis To Detect Cherry-Picking By Broker

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a New Jersey-based broker with misusing his access to customers’ brokerage accounts to enrich himself and family members at the expense of his customers, many of whom had entrusted him with their retirement accounts. The SEC uncovered the alleged fraud with data analysis used to detect suspicious trading patterns.
EBA Revises Standardised NPL Data templates

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a revised version of the standardised NPL data templates that aim at facilitating the NPL sale transactions across the EU. The revised templates include minor changes following the feedback received from the testing of the original version published in December 2017.

Eurex Clearing: Danske Bank Joins Partnership Program

The Danske Bank is the first Nordic bank to join Eurex Clearing’s Partnership Program and to become a General Clearing Member for Eurex Clearing’s OTC IRD clearing service. So far, 30 firms have joined the Partnership Program to support the common objective of building a liquid alternative to clear EUR-denominated OTC interest rate derivatives in the EU27.
