CFTC Charges Iowa Resident Lon Olen Friedrichsen With Solicitation Fraud In Violation Of The Commodity Exchange Act - CFTC Also Charges Friedrichsen With Acting As An Unregistered Commodity Trading Advisor

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, charging Lon Olen Friedrichsen of Alton, Iowa, with fraud and failing to register with the CFTC as a Commodity Trading Advisor, as required. Friedrichsen, as alleged, also solicited clients under the names of Lon Kummer and Lon Richardson, but omitted that these were false names.

ACER Strongly Recommends Inside Information Platforms

ACER has published its REMIT Quarterly issue No. 11 / Q4 2017. The report shows that of the 13,000 market participants officially registered in the Centralized European Register of Market Participants (CEREMP), 8 % use Inside Information Platforms (IIPs) for public disclosure. A registry review further disclosed that thereof only half are actually registered with an IIP. As a result, ACER has serious concerns about the compliance of these companies.

FSB Publishes Global Shadow Banking Monitoring Report 2017

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) today published the Global Shadow Banking Monitoring Report 2017. The Report presents the results of the FSB’s seventh annual monitoring exercise to assess global trends and risks from shadow banking activities. The 2017 monitoring exercise covers data up to end-2016 from 29 jurisdictions, which together represent over 80% of global GDP, including, for the first time, Luxembourg. Also for the first time, the Report assesses the involvement of non-bank financial entities in China in credit intermediation that may pose financial stability risks from shadow banking, such as maturity/liquidity mismatches and leverage.

Euronext today celebrated the listing of Acacia Pharma, a UK-based hospital pharmaceutical company on its Brussels market (Compartment B). This operation demonstrates the benefits offered by Euronext’s European Tech SME initiative as well as the attractiveness of Euronext as the leading venue for Biotech and Pharma companies in Europe. With this operation, Acacia Pharma joins a large franchise of 89 Life Science companies (52 Biotech and 37 Medtech companies) currently listed on Euronext’s markets, representing a total market capitalisation of €23.6 billion.

PEGAS Trading Volumes In February 2018 - PEGAS Spot Records A New High In February Supported By Strong Volumes On All Hubs

PEGAS, the pan-European gas trading platform operated by Powernext, reports its strongest spot volumes in February 2018 with 112.4 TWh (previous record: 95.7 TWh in December 2017). Extreme weather conditions in the later part of the month helped bring substantial liquidity on PEGAS spot hubs, thus supporting the overall volume hike. Monthly records were established on TTF, GASPOOL, PEG Nord, CEGH VTP, ZTP and ETF. The total monthly traded volume amounted to 174.9 TWh , up 7% from last year (February 2017: 163.6 TWh).
