Reykjavik Energy (OR) Lists Its First Green Bonds On Nasdaq Iceland

Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ) today announced that Reykjavik Energy (OR) has listed its first green bond series on Nasdaq Iceland’s sustainable bond market. The bond series currently have an outstanding nominal amount of about ISK 7.5 billion and a maturity of 36 years. The first issuance in the bond series was on 18 February 2019. OR intends to continue to issue bonds in the series in the coming years.

The Capital Market Authority (CMA), represented by the Deputy for Listed Companies & Investment Products in collaboration with the General Authority of Zakat & Tax (GAZT), held a workshop titled "The Mechanism of Zakat Calculation and Zakat for Tradable Real Estate Investment Funds", on Wednesday, 3rd of July, 2019 in Riyadh. The workshop was part of CMA's efforts to reach out to participants in the capital market and raise awareness of the mechanism for calculating Zakat of tradable real estate investment funds (REITs).

Purpose

For over two years, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has been using its powers under the Securities and Futures (Stock Market Listing) Rules (SMLR) and under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO) to intervene at an early stage in serious cases of corporate misconduct. In 2017 and 2018, the SFC issued letters of concern to more than 46 listed issuers about proposed corporate transactions or other actions1. More than 55% of these cases involved proposed corporate acquisitions or disposals.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index at end-June increased 6.8 percent from the previous month, marking the best performer in Asia, and 10.6 percent from end-2018 to 1,730.34 points. The average daily trading value of SET and Market for Alternative Investment (mai) in June was THB 60.53 billion (approx. USD 1.95 billion), up 3.1 percent from the preceding month. Foreign investors were the net buyers of Thai shares for the third straight month in June, gaining the highest monthly net inflows in the region.
