CFTC Orders Bank Of America, N.A. To Pay $30 Million Penalty For Attempted Manipulation And False Reporting Of U.S. Dollar ISDAFIX Benchmark Swap Rates

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) today issued an Order filing and settling charges against Bank of America, N.A. (Bank of America or the Bank) for attempted manipulation of the ISDAFIX benchmark and requiring Bank of America to pay a $30 million civil monetary penalty.

EU Banks Funding Plans Indicate Increased Appetite For Client Deposits And Market-Based Funding In The Coming Years

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today two reports on EU banks' funding plans and asset encumbrance respectively. The reports aim to provide important information for EU supervisors to assess the sustainability of banks' main sources of funding. The results of the assessment show that banks plan to match the asset side increase in the forecast years by a growth in client deposits as well as market based funding.

IOSCO Issues Policy Measures To Protect Investors Of OTC Leveraged Products

Summary
FI has decided to raise the buffer rate from 2.0 to 2.5 per cent. The reason for this change is that the systemic risks have increased. A larger buffer increases the resilience in the banks and is needed to enable the banks to maintain their lending activities even if a crisis were to emerge in the future.
