Sustainability Pays Off - Eurex Is The First Exchange To Offer Sustainable ESG Futures

The importance of so-called ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) information is constantly increasing, because sustainable investing is becoming more and more important and interesting for investors worldwide. The European market for sustainable indices is continuing to grow strongly. Globally, there were 22.89 Trillion USD of assets being professionally managed under responsible investment strategies in 2016, an increase of 25 percent since 2014. In relative terms, responsible investment now stands at 26 percent of all professionally managed assets globally. Clearly, sustainable investing constitutes a major force across global financial markets.

ASX Communique: Launch Of Fourth Edition Of Corporate Governance Principles And Recommendations

The ASX Corporate Governance Council (Council), an independent body comprising 19 business, shareholder and industry groups, has today released:
- the fourth edition of its Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations;
- a Consultation Response summarising the main submissions the Council received during the consultation on the fourth edition and explaining the changes made to produce the final version;
- a mark-up comparing the final version of the fourth edition to the consultation version; and
- a mark-up comparing the fourth edition to the third edition.

Abu Dhabi Global Market And ASIC Sign Agreement To Enhance Collaboration

The Registration Authority (RA) of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) are pleased to announce a partnership to strengthen collaboration between the two entities. The agreement is set to streamline company registration and facilitate the exchange of information, expertise and secondment opportunities in both jurisdictions.

Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo announced today that the CFTC will hold an open meeting on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. to consider the following:
- Amendment to the Comparability Determination for Japan: Margin Requirements for Uncleared Swaps for Swap Dealers and Major Swap Participants;
- Comparability Determination for Australia: Margin Requirements for Uncleared Swaps for Swap Dealers and Major Swap Participants;
- National Futures Association (NFA) Proposal to Amend Certain NFA Compliance Rules and Interpretive Notices to Incorporate Swaps;
- Notice of Revised Registration Form 7-R;
- Final Rule Amending Regulations on Segregation of Assets Held as Collateral in Uncleared Swap Transactions; and
- System of Records Notices for CFTC Privacy Act Systems CFTC-12 (NFA Applications Suite), CFTC-45 (Comments Online), and CFTC-53 (Contact Lists).

As Rob has just indicated, today is an important opportunity to discuss and reflect on the findings and recommendations of the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry (or the ‘Financial Services Royal Commission’ as it is more commonly known). I would like to consider what these findings and recommendations mean for both the providers of insurance and your customers, with a focus on rebuilding trust.
