    Capitolis, the pioneering technology provider for the capital markets, announced today that Citi and HSBC are the first FX prime brokers to be live on Capitolis Novation, its ground-breaking novation service in foreign exchange. The two leading banks were live in December 2018 and contributed to bringing the service to the market alongside Capitolis. The service has streamlined the novation process, helping to meaningfully reduce the time it takes for FX options novations to complete, for the benefit of the sell and buy side.

  • HKEX Market Opens For The Year Of The Pig

    This morning (8 February), HKEX held a market opening ceremony to welcome in trading for the Lunar New Year, with HKEX Chairman Laura M Cha and Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan striking the gong at the open, followed by a spectacular lion dance performance.  The ceremony was hosted by our Chairman and HKEX Chief Executive Charles Li, with Securities and Futures Commission Chairman Tim Lui, HKEX directors and senior executives, as well as representatives of market participants in attendance.

  • Nasdaq Stockholm Orders Cyxone AB To Pay A Fine Corresponding To Two Annual Fees

    The Disciplinary Committee of Nasdaq Stockholm has found that Cyxone AB (”Cyxone” or “the Company”) has breached the regulations of Nasdaq First North (“the Rulebook”) and has therefore ordered Cyxone to pay a fine of two annual fees, corresponding to an amount of SEK 200,000.

  • In CFTC Action, Court Orders Precious Metals Trader To Pay Penalty And Imposes Trading Ban For Spoofing And Deceptive Or Manipulative Scheme

    The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that Judge Vanessa Bryant of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut issued a Final Judgment and Consent Order on February 5, 2019, against Andre Flotron, a former precious metals trader for UBS AG, requiring him to pay a $100,000 civil monetary penalty for spoofing and engaging in a deceptive or manipulative scheme through his spoofing in violation of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and CFTC Regulations.  The Order also imposes a one-year trading and registration ban.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Robert Alexander with fraudulently raising approximately $9 million from more than 50 individuals by selling investments in Kizzang LLC, a purported online gaming business.
