Canadian Securities Regulators Seek Additional Comment On Proposed Rule For Non-GAAP And Other Financial Measures

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today published a second notice and request for comment on revisions to a proposed rule for Non-GAAP and Other Financial Measures (the proposed rule). The rule would establish disclosure requirements for issuers that disclose non-GAAP and other financial measures, which often lack standardized meanings, resulting in potentially misleading disclosure.

BOX Exchange: Adding Quote Timestamp Field To SAIL Protocol

In order to ensure files and data records are submitted in accordance with the CAT Reporting Technical Specification for Industry Members, BOX Exchange LLC (“BOX”) is updating its SAIL Protocol to add the report field “MM CAT UserTime”. This will allow BOX to report quote timestamps on behalf of its Market Makers.

CUSIP Request Volume For New U.S. Corporate Debt Identifiers Surges In January - Municipal Volumes Increase Year Over Year

CUSIP Global Services (CGS) today announced the release of its CUSIP Issuance Trends Report for January 2020. The report, which tracks the issuance of new security identifiers as an early indicator of debt and capital markets activity over the next quarter, found a significant year-over-year surge in request volume for new corporate and municipal identifiers. On a monthly basis, however, CUSIP request volume trended down in January across most major asset classes.

CFTC Orders Florida Resident And His Company To Pay Over $1 Million For Fraud

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today issued an order simultaneously filing and settling charges against Matthew R. White and M.W. Global Futures LLC (MWGF), both of Florida, for fraudulently soliciting approximately $1.2 million for a pooled investment vehicle trading commodity futures contracts, misappropriating over $280,000 in pool participants’ funds to pay for personal expenses, and operating without registration as required. The order requires White and MWGF to pay a $200,000 civil monetary penalty and $883,974 in restitution, of which $602,003 has already been paid. The order also requires White and MWGF to cease and desist from further violations of the Commodity Exchange Act, as charged.
