On June 3, 2020, Kazakhstan Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna (“Samruk-Kazyna”) sold 15.9 mln shares (in the form of shares and global depositary receipts) of JSC NAC “Kazatomprom” (“Kazatomprom”) at a price of $13 per share/GDR by way of an accelerated bookbuild for institutional investors through the London Stock Exchange (“LSE”) and Astana International Exchange (“AIX”), thereby raising aggregate gross sale proceeds of $206,653,499.

ACER: A Solution For Reported Auction Restrictions Is Published As Part Of The Gas Network Codes Functionality Process

Today, the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for gas (ENTSOG) published - on their co-managed Gas Network Codes Functionality Platform - a solution for ‘annual and quarterly auction restrictions in the German NCG market area, as reported on the gas capacity trading platform PRISMA'.

- Market capitalisation was $34.0 trillion at the end of May 2020, an increase of 10 per cent from $31.0 trillion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover in May 2020 was $114.7 billion, an increase of 18 per cent from $97.4 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover for the first five months of 2020 was $115.9 billion, an increase of 15 per cent when compared with $100.9 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of ETFs for the first five months of 2020 was $5.5 billion, an increase of 12 per cent when compared with $4.9 billion for the same period last year.
- Total funds raised for the first five months of 2020 was $134.5 billion, an increase of 27 per cent when compared with $105.7 billion for the same period last year.

Europex Response To The Commission Consultation In Preparation Of An EU Strategy On Energy System Integration

Europex supports a vision of an integrated energy system in which the various energy carriers or forms of energy (electricity, gas, liquids, heat, cold etc.) can be linked with each other as well as with the end use sectors (buildings, mobility, industry, agriculture, households) in order to optimise the energy system as a whole, i.e. producing, transporting and consuming energy in the most sustainable and cost-efficient way possible. To enable this goal, well-functioning energy and environmental markets are required to stimulate competition and innovation, allowing the most efficient technologies to emerge. When developing regulation to achieve integration between sectors, cost-effective decarbonisation should be the main objective rather than the promotion of any specific technology.

ESMA Promotes Convergence In The Supervision Of Costs In UCITs And AIFs

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has published today a supervisory briefing on the supervision by National Competent Authorities (NCAs) of costs applicable to Undertakings for the Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). This briefing comes in response to the need to improve convergence across NCAs in the approach to undue costs.
