SEC Names Allen Blume As Deputy Chief Financial Officer

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Allen Blume has been named Deputy Chief Financial Officer in the agency’s Office of Financial Management (OFM). Mr. Blume’s responsibilities include directing and coordinating the SEC’s financial planning, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and financial systems. OFM formulates budget and authorization requests; monitors the utilization of agency resources; and develops, oversees, and maintains SEC financial processes and systems.

U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Commissioner Dawn D. Stump today announced the members of the Subcommittee on Margin Requirements for Non-Cleared Swaps (Margin Subcommittee), a new subcommittee of the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC).

SEC Names Mark D. Reinhold As Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer In The Office Of Human Resources

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Mark D. Reinhold has been named Deputy Director of the agency’s Office of Human Resources (OHR). Mr. Reinhold will help to manage programs and policies in areas such as leadership and employee development, recruitment and retention, performance management, compensation and benefits, and labor relations. Mr. Reinhold began his new position at the SEC on Jan. 6, 2020.

Federal Reserve Board Announces Reserve Bank Income And Expense Data And Transfers To The Treasury For 2019

The Federal Reserve Board on Friday announced preliminary results indicating that the Reserve Banks provided for payments of approximately $54.9 billion to the U.S. Treasury. The 2019 audited Reserve Bank financial statements are expected to be published in March and may include adjustments to these preliminary unaudited results.

ESMA Report Values EU Alternative Investment Funds At €5.8 Trillion

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) today published its second statistical report on European Union (EU) Alternative Investment Funds (AIF). The study found that the EU AIF sector in 2018, as measured by Net Asset Value (NAV), amounted to €5.8tn or nearly 40% of the total EU fund industry. The report is based on data from 30,357 AIFs, or almost 100% of the market.

ACER Updates Validation Rules Under REMIT

The Agency is continuously working on improving data reporting guidance to facilitate market participants’ (MPs) compliance with their reporting obligations under the Regulation on wholesale market integrity and transparency (REMIT). In order to do so, new validation rules on gas and electricity transportation data will be implemented. Similarly, to other data types, the rules will require that the reported Energy Identification Code (EIC) type X which is used to identify a market participant in the reported data is registered in the Centralised European Register of Market Participants (CEREMP).
