On May 4, 2020, ISDA and the FIA submitted their response in relation to the European Commission’s consultation regarding the draft equivalence decision for financial benchmarks in Japan under the European Benchmarks Regulation.

Superintendent of Financial Services Linda A. Lacewell today announced that Nina Chen, the former Director of Conservation Investments with The Nature Conservancy, has joined the executive team at the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) as the Department’s first-ever Sustainability and Climate Initiatives Director. Ms. Chen’s appointment strengthens the mission of the Department to prepare for and mitigate the risks posed by climate change.

Federal Bank Regulatory Agencies Modify Liquidity Coverage Ratio For Banks Participating In Money Market Mutual Fund Liquidity Facility And Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility

To support the flow of credit to households and businesses, the federal bank regulatory agencies today announced an interim final rule that modifies the agencies' Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) rule to support banking organizations' participation in the Federal Reserve's Money Market Mutual Fund Liquidity Facility and the Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility.

BOX Exchange Update: Adding Quote Timestamp Field To SAIL Protocol

BOX Exchange (“BOX”) recently distributed RC-2020-03 which detailed the updates BOX is making to its SAIL Protocol. The new field will allow BOX to report timestamps to the CAT that are related to quote data on behalf of Market Makers. All BOX Market Makers will be required to support the new field.

Good afternoon everyone. I greatly appreciate this opportunity to participate in the virtual Investment Connection. As many of you are aware, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City started this initiative in 2011 with a goal of helping funders find community and economic development opportunities in the 10th District. Investment Connection has attracted a wide range of proposals to meet community development needs, including asset building and financial education, community facilities, small business development/microlending, neighborhood stabilization/affordable housing, and workforce development. Since its inception, seven additional Reserve Banks have held or plan to hold Investment Connection events in their respective districts.

Nodal Exchange Achieves Greatest US Power Open Interest After 2nd Highest Trading Day Ever

On Friday, May 1, 2020, Nodal Exchange achieved its second highest trading day in power futures with a total volume of 42 million MWh.  The significant trading volume resulted in over 1,030 million MWh of total power futures open interest as of end of day May 1st.  This marked the first time Nodal Exchange had the largest power futures open interest of any exchange in North America.
