CalPERS Announces Candidates For Fall 2025 Board Election

CalPERS is holding an election this fall for the two Member-at-Large seats on the California Public Employees’ Pension System (CalPERS) Board of Administration. The 13-member CalPERS Board sets policy and makes critical decisions year-round that directly affect members and employers, including annual health premiums and allocations of the pension fund's investments. Under the California Constitution, the CalPERS board has exclusive authority to administer the CalPERS pension fund.

Nadex Temporarily Amends Binary Contracts Strike Width

Pursuant to Section 5c(c)(1) of the Commodity Exchange Act, as amended (“Act”), and Section 40.6(d) of the regulations promulgated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (the “Commission”) under the Act (the “Regulations”), North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (“Nadex”, the “Exchange”) hereby provides notice that due to increased or decreased volatility, as the case may be, in the underlying markets upon which the Nadex contracts are based, Nadex made changes to the strike widths of various contracts during the week of May 12, 2025 as indicated in the Weekly Notice. Addressable Liquidity In OTC Equity Trading: By Kelvin To, Founder And President Of Data Boiler Technologies

Addressable liquidity is a fluid concept in Europe. The UK Financial Conduct Authority has opted to shift away from it, particularly in the context of Systematic Internalizers (SIs) and post-trade transparency reforms. To improve the competitiveness of European markets, EU policy makers are advocating for simpler rules but not regulatory relaxations. Making MiFID II liquidity classification and transparency regime less rigid should be welcomed. The adoption of FIX Market Model Typology (MMT) flags in equity market data feeds raises concerns about: latency; the appropriate placement of trade lifecycle information; and, doubt if over-the-counter (OTC) trades are truly assessable by anyone.

A total turnover of 2.606 billion shares worth N63.785 billion in 77,593 deals was traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 2.645 billion shares valued at N77.005 billion that exchanged hands last week in 86,110 deals.
