    1.      Good afternoon. It is my pleasure to join you today at this Prelude event to ACI’s inaugural Asian Financial Markets Forum to be held in October. Asian economies and financial markets have experienced remarkable growth in the last two decades, and will continue to be major contributors to global growth going forward. With this positive outlook, I am glad that the Forum will focus on “The Asian Financial Markets in the Next Decade” – a theme which is highly important and invigorating.

  • DGCX Launches Daily Gold Futures Contract

    The Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) today announced that it has launched a 12.5kg physically delivered Daily Gold Futures Contract, available for trading today. As the first-of-its-kind in the region, the contract builds on DGCX’s growing suite of precious metal products. The Daily Gold Futures Contract was introduced in response to increased market demand and will be cleared by the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC).

  • Shenzhen Stock Exchange Inked MoU With JPX To Deepen Cooperation - China-Japan ETF Connectivity

    On January 25, 2021, the second China-Japan Capital Market Forum was held via video link. Mr. Ryozo Himino, Commissioner of Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA), Mr. Fang Xinghai, Vice Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Mr. Mitsuhiro Hasegawa, Chairman of Japan Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) attended the Forum and delivered speeches among others. Ms. Sha Yan, President & CEO of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), participated in the panel discussion of “Prospects of Market Structure Reform and Capital Market Cooperation”. The Forum was jointly hosted by the Securities Association of China (SAC) and Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA). Representatives of securities and futures regulators, stock exchanges, futures exchanges, investment fund associations, and futures associations from the two countries engaged in extensive discussions on the future of China-Japan capital market cooperation.

    On January 25, 2021, the second China-Japan Capital Market Forum was successfully held online. Fang Xinghai, Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), and Ryozo Himino, Commissioner of the Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA), attended the forum and delivered speeches. Cai Jianchun, President of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), was also present at the forum and gave a keynote speech at the roundtable discussion on the Prospects for China-Japan Capital Market Cooperation. Conducting extensive exchanges at the forum were representatives from China and Japan's securities and futures regulators, stock exchanges, futures exchanges, securities industry associations, fund industry associations and futures industry associations.

  • BIS Innovation Hub Sets Out Annual Work Programme And Launches Innovation Network

    • BISIH to focus on six themes: suptech and regtech; next-generation financial market infrastructures; central bank digital currencies; open finance; green finance; and cyber security.
    • Projects to be spread across existing Hub Centres and new locations coming online in 2021.
    • Priorities to be supported by the BIS Innovation Network, a network of experts drawn from the BIS's 63 member central banks.
