Asset managers in the UK will see a softening of the MIFID II ban on using dealing commissions to fund research ahead of EU counterparts with fixed income research the most likely beneficiary, a new report published by Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) says.

For the first time, investors can now buy and sell exchange-traded notes (ETNs) based on the cryptocurrencies Cardano and Stellar at Boerse Stuttgart. The securities issued by 21Shares track the price of the two cryptocurrencies in relation to the euro.

On April 30, SZSE revised the Rules Governing the Review of Major Asset Restructuring of Listed Companies on the ChiNext Board and the Measures on Administration of the Listing Committee of the ChiNext Board and solicited public opinions, in an effort to conscientiously implement the Opinions of the State Council on Further Improving the Quality of Listed Companies, improve review procedures for mergers and acquisitions ("M&A") under the pilot project of the registration-based IPO system of the ChiNext Board and better play the role of M&A in improving the quality of listed companies.

On April 30, SZSE released the Business Guidelines for Review of Stock Issuance and Listing on the ChiNext Board No. 1 – On-site Supervision of Sponsorship Business (the “Guidelines for On-site Supervision” or the “Guidelines”). It is a concrete measure adopted by SZSE to conscientiously implement the requirements of the new Securities Law, refine the basic systems of the market, and ensure high-quality operation of the registration-based IPO system on the ChiNext Board. It is also a useful exploration in putting in place the working philosophy of being open-minded, transparent, honest and impartial, standardizing on-site supervision, strengthening performance of information disclosure duties, and improving information disclosure quality.

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

1. Before I begin, I would like to thank the MC for her very kind introduction.  My thanks also to all of you for joining us today in this 3rd edition of the SGX Regulatory Symposium.  This symposium is an opportunity for the community to come together.  It is a chance for us to discuss issues of topical interest, in an open, no-prejudice setting, which I hope you will find illuminating and helpful.  My colleagues and I appreciate your attendance and look forward to your active participation, so that we can take your views on board.  I often say to my colleagues across the organizations I’m involved with that although I may not agree with all their views, such views help to make my thinking more holistic and balanced, provided I listen, which I do. And I can assure you that RegCo is a listening organization that itself reflects a diversity of internal views.
