On August 20, due to a system failure, Mizuho Bank suspended over-the-counter services for deposits, withdrawals and money transfers. Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. has had system failures repeatedly and caused inconvenience to its customers. The FSA has issued dispositions and orders to Mizuho, but Mizuho has failed to make improvements sufficiently. Accordingly, the FSA's supervisory responsibility would also be questioned. What do you think as the minister in charge of financial services?

I agree with the Commission’s finding that Interactive Brokers LLC (IB) violated CFTC Rule 166.3[1] by failing to diligently supervise its electronic trading system’s preparedness for, and ability to handle, negative crude oil futures prices as occurred on April 20, 2020.

US Department Of Justice: Indictment Unsealed Against Six Individuals And Foreign Financial Service Firm For Tax Evasion Conspiracy - Defendants Allegedly Used ‘Singapore Solution’ To Enable U.S. Clients To Evade Taxes On Over $60 Million Hidden Offshore

An indictment was unsealed today in New York, New York, that charges offshore financial service executives and a Swiss financial services company with conspiracy to defraud the IRS by helping three large-value U.S. taxpayer-clients conceal more than $60 million in income and assets held in undeclared, offshore bank accounts and to evade U.S. income taxes.

In a combined effort to provide additional protection for investors, FINRA and the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) today announced a new campaign urging investors to provide their financial firms with a trusted contact. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (SEC OIEA) is also collaborating on this initiative.

CFTC Imposes A $1.25 Million Penalty Against Kraken For Offering Illegal Off-Exchange Digital Asset Trading And Failing To Register As Required

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today issued an order filing and settling charges against respondent Payward Ventures, Inc. d/b/a Kraken (Kraken) for illegally offering margined retail commodity transactions in digital assets, including Bitcoin, and failing to register as a futures commission merchant (FCM). Kraken, founded in 2011, is one of the largest digital asset exchanges in the U.S.
