On Monday, October 18, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will preside over a meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (Council) via videoconference. The agenda will include both an open and an executive session. The preliminary agenda for the open session includes the Council report on climate-related financial risk. The preliminary agenda for the executive session includes an update on the Council’s 2021 annual report, and an update on the report on stablecoins being developed by the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Secretary Janet L. Yellen will attend the Annual Fall Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank Group, as well as G7 and G20 Meetings of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Washington, D.C. from October 12-15, 2021. Throughout the week, Secretary Yellen will continue to reinforce the U.S. commitment to multilateralism and advance U.S. policy priorities on global tax policy, the climate crisis, an inclusive economic recovery, and global health. She will also hold bilateral meetings with several counterparts. Additional details will be released in the coming days.
