SET, Walk Free And FAST Provide Thai Businesses With Tools To Manage Modern Slavery Risks

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has partnered with Walk Free and Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST), two international organizations with business and human rights expertise, to produce a set of tools to manage human rights risks, specifically modern slavery and labor exploitation. The toolkit, which consists of the “Guidance on Modern Slavery Risks for Thai Businesses” and the online “Modern Slavery Benchmarking Tool”, will help Thai listed companies, business operators and interested members of the public to manage human rights risks across a range of business and industry sectors. Detecting, preventing and remediating human rights abuses in value chains is essential for modern businesses to win the trust of all stakeholders and build further confidence in the Thai business sector globally.

Please explain your thought on what stance the national government will take?

Office Of The Comptroller Of The Currency Issues Final Rule To Rescind Its 2020 Community Reinvestment Act Rule

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) issued a final rule to rescind the June 2020 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) rule and replace it with a rule based on the rules adopted jointly by the Federal banking agencies in 1995, as amended. This action is intended to facilitate the ongoing interagency work to modernize the CRA regulatory framework and promote consistency for all insured depository institutions.

Acting Comptroller Of The Currency Issues Statement On RFI On Bank Mergers

Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu issued the following statement today regarding the Request for Information on bank mergers.
I support the view of the majority of the FDIC Board members that the Bank Merger Act (BMA) guidelines are ripe for review. I am particularly focused on the financial stability prong, given large bank merger trends and my experience in the 2008 financial crisis with too-big-to-fail firms.

IIFM And ISDA Publish IBOR Fallback Bilateral Amendment Agreement And Definitions Booklet

The International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM) and ISDA today announced the publication of the ISDA/IIFM IBOR Fallback Definitions Booklet for Islamic Hedging Transactions, which will enable firms that transact under relevant documentation to agree to robust contractual fallbacks for certain key interbank offered rates (IBORs). IIFM and ISDA have also published an ISDA/IIFM Shari’ah-Compliant Bilateral Amendment Agreement template to enable institutions to agree with their counterparties to incorporate the fallbacks for existing Islamic hedges.
