It is hard to describe how humbling it is to sit on the dais at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) today among this distinguished group and where many extraordinary individuals have sat before us.  When I first walked into this room three years ago and witnessed the collegial debate and deliberation that occurred on this dais during Open Meetings, I honestly did not imagine that one day my name would be on this placard and I would occupy this seat.  But we do not always know the destination when we first step onto a new path.  There are four wonderful individuals seated up here with me whom I have had the good fortune to get to know along this path, as well as the dedicated CFTC staff, including the teams we will hear from today.

US Treasury Department Signs Agreement To Contribute $500 Million To The European Bank For Reconstruction And Development To Support Ukraine And Other Affected Countries

Today, Assistant Secretary for International Trade and Development Alexia Latortue participated in a virtual signing ceremony with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Odile Renaud-Basso for a $500 million U.S. contribution to the EBRD to support businesses and public services affected by Russia’s war in Ukraine as well as other countries impacted by the war.

Bank Of America, BNY Mellon And Citi Make $20 Million Strategic Investment In Genesis Global - Leading Financial Institutions Use Low-Code Software Development As An Enabler Of Their IT Strategies

Genesis Global, the low-code application development platform purpose-built for financial markets organizations, today announced $20 million in new investments from Bank of America, BNY Mellon and Citi. These strategic investments follow the firm’s $200 million Series C funding announced in February.

Good morning and welcome.  In some respects, today’s open meeting is a historic event. It is the first open meeting to be held in person at the Commission in almost two and a half years, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.  It is also the first open meeting to be held with all five Commissioners since December 2020.  Perhaps most notably, it is the first open meeting with our history-making CFTC Commissioners.

On 21th July 2022, BaFin prohibited Integral Investment, which states that its registered office is in Euston Tower 286 Euston Road, NW1 3 DP London, United Kingdom, from offering the shares of GreenRock Eco Ventures Corp. to the public. BaFin imposed the prohibition because the company had infringed Article 3(1) of the EU Prospectus Regulation. For this reason, Integral Investment may not offer the shares of GreenRock Eco Ventures Corp. to the public in Germany.

DTCC Partners With Kingfield To Transform Corporate Actions Claims Process

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry, today announced its subsidiary, The Depository Trust Company (DTC), has connected its automated ClaimConnect solution to the claims processing platform offered by leading financial software provider Kingfield Corporation. The partnership will allow mutual clients, including State Street, to bilaterally manage claims and other types of exceptions using Kingfield’s platform. With this connectivity, firms will be able to automatically match claims before sending them to DTC for straight-through-processing and intraday settlement via securities payment orders (SPOs).

UK Financial Conduct Authority Refuses Authorisation To Funeral Plan Provider

The FCA has issued a Decision Notice to One Life Funeral Planning Ltd (One Life) refusing the firm’s application for authorisation. One Life could not demonstrate that it was able to meet or comply with the FCA’s regulatory standards. The concerns included the firm having poor sales practices.
