HKFE Panel Sees Three-month HIBOR Rising

The Hong Kong Futures Exchange's (HKFE) panel of forecasters from 10 banks predicts the three-month HIBOR (Hong Kong interbank offer rate) will be nearly a quarter percentage point higher on 15 October. The panel also looks for one-month HIBOR to be near its current level in mid-October. Both predictions appear in the latest edition of the HKFE's "HIBOR Futures Market Update" newsletter, published today.
COMED Confirms No Problems Affecting CBOT

In response to inquiries from CBOT members and customers today (August 17), the Chicago Board of Trade confirmed with Commonwealth Edison that ComEd is not experiencing any problems that will affect the exchange.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced it will begin trading options on the stock of Dell Computer Corporation (NASDQ ticker symbol DELL and CBOE ticker symbol DLQ) beginning on Monday, August 23, 1999.

CBOE Names LETCO as DPM For Options on Dell Computer Corp. (DELL)

The Chicago Board Options Exchange announced that LETCO, LP has been named as the Designated Primary Market Maker (DPM) for options on Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ ticker symbol DELL and CBOE symbol DLQ). The CBOE announced earlier today that it will list options on the stock of Dell beginning on Monday, August 23, 1999. "CBOE is proud to add DELL to its list of more than 1200 stock options.
Sir Bob Reid Appointed Chairman Of The IPE

At a meeting of the IPE Board on Thursday 12 August, Sir Bob Reid was appointed Chairman of the IPE following the resignation of the previous incumbent, Lord Fraser of Carmyllie, last month. Sir Bob Reid will take up office with immediate effect.
