  • JSE Records All Time High For All Share Index

    A new record closing value of 8,495 was recorded for the JSE Actuaries All Share Index yesterday. The 8,400 mark has been reached for the first time in the JSE's 112 year history. The All Share Index reached a previous high of 8,359 on 20 April 1998.

  • CME Announces Special Daily Settlement Procedure, Early Close For Domestic Stock Index Products Dec. 31

    The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) today announced a special daily settlement procedure to be applied to domestic stock index products on one day only, Friday, December 31, 1999-the final day of trading in this century. On that date, daily settlement prices for domestic stock index futures and options will be determined on the basis of their "fair value" relative to the underlying cash index at the 12:00 noon (CST) close of trading.

  • Deutsche Börse Up-dates SMAX Rules & Regulations - Transition To International Accounting Standards

    As at January 1 2000, Deutsche Börse is adapting the SMAX Rules & Regulations to meet the growing requirements of the European capital market. Above all, SMAX-listed companies will, as of the beginning of the year 2002 reporting period, have to meet international accounting standards. Moreover, the regulations for preferential allocation of shares have been made more precise.

    Australian Stock Exchange ("ASX") today announced that the market will be consulted shortly about the proposed introduction of a new listing rule. This proposed listing rule is intended to apply to those companies that were admitted since 1 July 1999* where the company had assets at least half of which were in the form of cash or in a form readily convertible to cash.
