  • KCBT Files For CFTC Approval To Alter Western Natural Gas Contract

    The Kansas City Board of Trade on Friday filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to convert the western natural gas futures contract from a "flat price" contract to a "basis" futures contract. Anticipating CFTC approval, all contract months from February 2000 forward have been delisted from trading flat price natural gas futures contracts.

    Volumes of trade at the IPE reached their highest levels in the eighteen year history of the exchange on Friday. A total of 180,260 lots were traded over the day as oil prices moved sharply lower.

  • Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange Setting Up "Y2K Task Force"

    The Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange started a "Y2K Task Force" on 1 October 1999. The task force is headed by Takao Hotta, TIFFE's Senior Managing Director, and composed of all the senior staff on TIFFE. The task force work from October 1999 to March 2000.

  • KLSE Link Enhances Corporate Disclosure For Investors

    The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) on October 8 launched the KLSE Listing Information Network (KLSE LINK), an internet-based facility, which will enhance corporate disclosure for investors. With the KLSE LINK, public listed companies and merchant banks will have a secure and efficient infrastructure to submit corporate announcements and information to the exchange. Investors will be able to have timely and easy access to these announcements via the KLSE web-page at www.klse.com.my.

  • Implementation Of GIVE-UP Functions And Half-Tick Pricing On Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange

    It has been decided that The Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange (TIFFE) will start Give-up functions and Half-tick pricing by the Board. Both of the new functions are planned to be started from October 26th.

(NASDĀ®) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today announced that three working groups have delivered reports on critical issues concerning extended trading hours.   • NYMEX To Increase Margins On Gold Futures Contracts

    The New York Mercantile Exchange will increase the margins on its gold futures contracts to $2,000 from $1,600 for clearing members, members, and hedgers; and to $2,700 from $2,160 for speculators as of the close of business Monday, October 11, 1999.
