'Some recent press reports have been critical about my role in trying to secure the 2004 Olympic Games for Sweden. Earlier this year, the Swedish Prosecutor closed his investigation into the company set up to make the bid for the Games. He had found no evidence of any wrongdoing on my part or that of the company.

The Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) announced continued strong volume in the third quarter. For the quarter ended September 30, 2000, total trade volume reached 15,163,100, up 132 percent over the third quarter of 1999, while share volume ended at 6,454,177,006, an increase of 97 percent.

TIFFE To Downsize U.S. Dollar-Japanese Yen Currency Futures

The Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange (TIFFE) has announced that its U.S Dollar-Japanese Yen Currency Futures will be downsized to one-fifth on 1st November 2000. The contract size is to be changed from US$50,000 to US$10,000, and the tick value from \2,500 to \500. In accordance with this downsizing, the exchange fee is also reduced to \20 per contract on one-way basis, which is one-fifth of the current \100.

Eurex Introduces Repo Trading - SWX Repo Dealings To Be Integrated Into Eurex/Access Via Internet

The SWX Swiss Exchange and Eurex have announced that they will cooperate in the trading of repos (sale and repurchase agreements).
