Judge Durkin’s ruling did not address the merits of the dispute and has no impact on the continuation of the Exercise Right today.

The American Stock Exchange® (Amex®) today detailed its results for the year 2000, posting strong gains in all three of its core business lines. Exchange-traded fund assets and average daily volume nearly doubled for the sixth consecutive year. The Amex’s options business traded a record volume of more than 200 million contracts. The Amex Composite Index beat that of every other domestic exchange and the Amex added 112 new operating company listings.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that it reached a new one-day record volume for trading equity and index options on Jan.18 when 732,251 equity and index options contracts were traded. This marked an 8 percent increase over the previous record-high daily volume on December 15, 2000 when 673,017 contracts were traded.
