Maurren Maggi, a Brazilian athlete from the BM&FBOVESPA Athletics Club, won a gold medal in the long jump today, August 22, and became Brazil’s first women’s track-and-field athlete to win an individual gold medal in the Olympic Games. With a leap of 7.04m on her first jump, Maurren surpassed Russia’s Tatyana Lebedeva who won silver with a jump of 7.03m. Blessing Okagbare from Nigeria took home the bronze medal, with a mark of 6.91m.

(TSX:DDV) have accepted the $CDN83.00 cash per share offer from Shell Canada Limited. Duvernay will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX Completion and Equity Completion, the S&P/TSX Equity and Capped Equity and the S&P/TSX Capped Energy indices after the close of trading on Tuesday, August 26, 2008.
