Lowest Private Equity Quarterly Fundraising Figures Since Q1 2005 - Fundraising Starts To Suffer As Investors Become Increasingly Cautious

The troubles affecting the global financial markets have taken their toll on private equity fundraising, with fundraising figures for Q3 2008 the lowest they have been since Q1 2005. As the table shows, there were a total of 117 funds achieving a final close worldwide in Q3 2008, with these vehicles raising an aggregate $82.3bn in capital. The Federal Reserve Board on Monday announced that it will begin to pay interest on depository institutions' required and excess reserve balances.
