BM&FBOVESPA: Direct Market Access Via Co-location Debuts With 2,920 Contracts Traded - Total Number Of Contracts Traded Via DMA In The BM&F Segment Rises From 4.51 Million In May To 6.15 Million In June

Direct market access via co-location ended the month of June 2009 with 287 trades and 2,920 contracts traded in two days of trading in the BM&F segment. This access service was implemented by BM&FBOVESPA on June 15 and trading began on June 29. Direct connection via co-location allows clients to place their own computer equipment inside the BM&FBOVESPA data processing center.

June 2009 On The Warsaw Stock Exchange

June’s highlight was the IPO of Bogdanka, the first Polish coal mining company listed on the WSE and the first state-owned company to go public on the Warsaw bourse since November 2008. Other major events included, among others, the start of a project aimed at creating a new stock exchange index of socially responsible companies and the visit of the renown investor Mark Mobius to the WSE.

Tradeweb Supports The European Commission’s Proposal For Financial Regulatory Reform For OTC Derivatives

Tradeweb is supportive of the European Commission’s Communication today on “strengthening the safety of derivatives markets”. The Communication stresses the need for transparency and the management of systemic risk, and emphasises the need to clear OTC derivatives through regulated Central Counterparties (CCPs). Such regulation is intended to introduce appropriate controls, and allow corporate and institutional investors to continue to use derivatives effectively.
