Monetary Exit Strategies And Systemic Risk: MEPs Hear Experts

EU co-ordination of exit strategies, links between the ECB and the European Systemic Risk Board and a possible ban on products that destabilise markets were the key issues raised by MEPs from the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and the Special Committee on Financial, Economic and Social Crisis at a hearing of experts on Tuesday.

Boerse Stuttgart Records Trading Volumes Of EUR 7.3 Billion In November - Big Increase In Reverse Convertibles - Volumes In Etf Trading Continue To Grow - Turnover In Investment Products Above Previous Year's Level

In November 2009 Boerse Stuttgart's order book statistics showed a trading volume of EUR 7.3 billion, a 15 percent decline compared with October. In a year-on-year comparison volumes were down by 10 percent. Investment fund trading at the Stuttgart stock exchange proved to be robust with volumes up by 52 percent to EUR 414 million in comparison with November 2008 and by 7 percent compared with the previous month. Trading in reverse convertibles, accounting for 144 million, was also up sharply

The NASDAQ OMX Stockholm Disciplinary Committee Fines Timber Hill Europe

Timber Hill Europe AG (“Timber Hill”), a member of NASDAQ OMX Stockholm AB (“the Exchange”), has breached the Exchange's rules and regulations by automatically issuing sell orders with terms that deviated from the current market value. Accordingly, the Exchange's Disciplinary Committee has ruled that Timber Hill must pay a fine of four hundred thousand Swedish Kronor, SEK 400,000.

Markit Carbon Disclosure Leadership Indices

On 2nd December, Markit will launch the Markit Carbon Leadership Global Index. This global equity index is based on 1,500 companies from developed countries and includes most of the index constituents from the indices previously launched for the US, UK and European markets.

The Spanish Exchange Traded €84.83 Bn In November - Up 16% From The Same Period Last Year

Record highs in Futures and Options: trading to the end of November totaled 85.2 million contracts, up 2.1% from the entire figure registered in 2008. The trading volume in ETFs came in at €498.3 million, the highest monthly figure reached in 2009. Trading volume on the Corporate Debt market since January came in at €3.37 trillion, up 61.5% from the same period a year earlier.
