ICE Reports Record Futures ADV In May, Up 44% - $9 Trillion In CDS Cleared Globally To Date

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of regulated global futures exchanges, clearing houses and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, reported strong futures volume growth in May 2010. Average daily volume (ADV) for ICE's futures markets grew 44% from May 2009 to a record 1,441,567 contracts in May 2010. ICE Futures Europe established its fourth monthly ADV record in 2010 with 983,100 contracts traded, up 59% from May 2009.

CMEGroup, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced that May volume averaged an all-time record of 16.8 million contracts per day, up 58 percent from May 2009. Total volume was 335 million contracts for May, of which 84 percent was traded electronically.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS Securities Market - Securities trading was healthy month on month despite cautious market conditions. Daily average value for May was $1.8 billion, 4% higher than in April. Calendar year-to-date daily average value was $1.6 billion.

DGCX Trades 139,565 Futures Contracts In May 2010

Volume on Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) recorded a 30% month-on-month increase in May, but a year-on-year decline of 12%, with 139,565 contracts traded, valued at US$ 7.64 billion. Of the total volume, 79,889 contracts were traded in DGCX currency futures, an increase of 128% on last year.
