BM&FBOVESPA Registers A Historic Milestone In Its Derivatives Segment

BM&FBOVESPA – the Brazilian Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange registered a record of 112,069 trades in its derivatives segment today (05 May) - its market milestone in this segment. The previous record of 107,466 trades was set on April 28, 2010. Today’s trading session registered 3,136,389 contracts traded and a financial volume of BRL 202.22 billion.

National Stock Exchange Releases April 2010 ETF/ETN Data Report - ETF Assets Set New Record

National Stock Exchange, Inc. (NSX®) announced that assets in U.S. listed Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF) and Exchange-Traded Notes (ETN) totaled a record of approximately $846.7 billion at April 2010 month-end, an increase of approximately 57% over April 2009 month-end when assets totaled $540.2 billion. At the end of April 2010, the number of listed products totaled 998, compared to 844 listed products at the end of April 2009.

FINRA To Perform NYSE Regulation's Market Oversight Functions

NYSE Euronext (NYSE: NYX) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) today announced that they have agreed that FINRA will assume responsibility for performing the market surveillance and enforcement functions currently conducted by NYSE Regulation. The agreement is subject to review by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
