    Good morning.  I am very honored to be giving the welcoming remarks and to offer a few perspectives from my first 10 months as Chair.  Looking back at remarks made by former Chairs at this event, the expectation seems to be for me to talk about the “State of the SEC.”  I will happily oblige on behalf of this great and critical agency.

  • Moscow Exchange To Retire Quasi-Treasury Shares

    Moscow Exchange has completed the buyback of 99,852,660 shares (representing 4.2% of its outstanding shares) from its subsidiary MICEX-Finance. Moscow Exchange intends to retire the shares and make the necessary amendments to its Charter in March.

  • Tokyo Financial Exchange: Rollover Of Leading Contract Month For Three-month Euroyen Futures - Effective From 20 February 2014

    Tokyo Financial Exchange has decided to shift the leading contract month for Euroyen futures from the current September 2014 contracts to the December 2014 contracts, effective from 20 February 2014.

    CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced the company was named "Best Futures Exchange" by Markets Media's 2014 Market's Choice Awards, as voted by peers and customers. The award recognizes CME Group's excellence in client service and education, technology design and execution, and diverse and innovative products. 

  • Share Of Investors In Financial Instruments Trading On Warsaw Stock Exchange In 2013

    • Foreign investors generated 47% of trading in equities on the WSE Main Market (-1 percentage point YoY), institutional investors 38% (+4 percentage points) and retail investors 15% (-3 percentage points).
    • The years-long downtrend in the share of retail investors in trading on the Main Market reversed in H2 2013 as their market share increased from 14% to 16% in the period.
    • Retail investors remained in the lead on NewConnect but the share of institutional investors increased steadily.
    • The share of domestic institutions in option trading grew for another consecutive year, attesting to the professionalization of trade in this segment on WSE.
